2026 CAROLINAS INTERCLUB ENTRY INFORMATION
Entries for the annual Carolinas Interclub competition OPENS Monday, December 15 @ 9:00am to all CGA member clubs. Registration will CLOSE Sunday, February 15 @ 11:59pm. This competition features neighboring CGA member clubs competing amongst each other in Net Four-Ball Match Play competition. 355 teams competed across three age divisions in 2025, representing 140 CGA Member Clubs and over 5,500 golfers!
FORMAT:
- Carolinas, Senior & Super Senior Division Interclub team competition involves 8 players from each team competing in “Four-Ball” match play format. The Women’s & Gross Divisions involve 4 players from each team competing in “Four-Ball” match play format. There are five (5) divisions:
- Carolinas Division - minimum age is 18 years old (matches primarily on weekends but can be on weekdays)
- Senior Division - minimum age is 55 years old (matches primarily on weekdays but can be on weekends)
- Super Senior Division - minimum age is 65 years old (matches primarily on weekdays but can be on weekends)
- Women’s Division - minimum age is 18 years old (matches primarily on weekdays but can be on weekends)
- Gross Division - minimum age is 18 years old (matches primarily on weekends but can be on weekdays)
- Teams in ALL Divisions will play 6 Regular Season matches (3 Home and 3 Away) (2026 Regular Season: March 2 - July 26)
- Carolinas, Senior, Super Senior & Women’s Divisions
- Pairings are based on each player's Low Handicap Index™ (Low H.I.) and are set in Low to High, handicap index order - Handicaps automatically updated each Monday. Players compete to 85% of the difference in the Unrounded Course Handicaps from the player with the lowest Playing Handicap in each foursome, based on their Low H.I.. One player in each foursome plays at scratch.
- Each of the Four-Ball matches (2 in Women’s Division; 4 in the Carolinas, Senior & Super Senior divisions) are worth 20 match points (1 point per hole = 18). 2 additional points are awarded to each Four-Ball winning team (or split if tied). A total of 80 match points is available in each Club vs Club match, with 40.5 points winning the Club vs Club match for Carolinas, Senior & Super Senior Divisions. For Women’s Division matches, a total of 40 points is available, with 20.5 points winning the Club vs Club match.
- Gross Division
- Pairings must be set in Low to High order, based on each player's Low Handicap Index.
- Each of the two (2), Four-Ball matches are worth 20 match points (1 point per hole = 18). 2 additional points are awarded to each Four-Ball winning team (or split if tied). A total of 40 match points is available in each Club vs Club match, with 20.5 points winning the Club vs Club match.
- Match points accumulate throughout the regular season and are used for tie breaking for pod standings and playoff standings.
- Playoff matches can begin Saturday, August 1. The top 64 teams in the Carolinas, Senior & Super Senior divisions qualify. Pod winners automatically qualify and 2nd place teams in 5 and 6 team pods also automatically qualify. Any remaining spots will be determined by Regular Season record and accumulated match points.
- The 2026 Final Four for the Carolinas, Senior & Super Senior divisions will be held at River Landing Golf Club in Wallace, NC
- Sunday, November 15 = Practice rounds (shotgun start) & team dinner hosted by the CGA
- Monday, November 16 = Semi-Finals matches
- Tuesday, November 17 = Championship matches
- The Women’s Division will NOT have playoff matches for at least the first season. Pod winners will receive a prize from the CGA. The intent is to have a playoff component in future seasons as participation levels are solidified.
- The Gross Division’s playoffs is TBD based on the number of entries the first year.
CAPTAINS MEETINGS:
The CGA Interclub Committee will host pre-season Captains meetings to review Interclub/Match play rules, Pods & Golf Genius. Meetings will be held on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. NEW teams/captains are required to attend, and returning captains are strongly encouraged to attend. Links for each meeting will be emailed to all a day or two prior to the respective meeting date. Team captains that cannot attend a pre-season meeting can access recordings of the meeting via the Interclub website. Participating teams will receive more information about the captain’s meeting as entries are received. Meeting dates are as follows and will start @ 5:30pm:

ENTRY INFORMATION:
- Teams must pre-form their own Pods and CANNOT register without at least two other teams in their Pod (minimum of three (3) teams in a Pod). PLEASE CONFIRM WITH THE OTHER CLUBS BEFORE LISTING THEIR NAMES ON THE ENTRY FORM AS PART OF YOUR POD. INDIVIDUAL TEAMS CANNOT REGISTER.
- New teams/clubs may request contact information from the CGA Interclub Committee for existing Pods. The CGA Interclub Committee will NOT assign teams to existing Pods.
- Each team must register online HERE. Please read all directions during online registration carefully. The entry deadline is February 15th at 11:59 pm. Entry fees are as follows:
- Carolinas, Senior & Super Senior Divisions = $400 per team (teams will receive CGA logoed merchandise)
- Gross Division = $300 per team
- Women’s Division = $200 per team
