REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPATING CLUBS & CAPTAINS
Club Requirements:
- Must be members and in good standing with the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and be a Type 1 Club (USGA Club Explanations)
- Must be licensed to offer USGA Handicaps
- Must have a regulation length golf course with a valid Course Rating and Slope Rating (see Interclub Rule 7.C for yardage requirements)
- Have the option to offer practice rounds (NOT required for regular season and/or playoffs, See Interclub Rule 9)
- Charge no more than an applicable cart fee for regular season and playoff matches
- COURSE USAGE POLICY: It is required that any team electing to participate in the Interclub shall make available its home course for all scheduled regular season matches (3), make-up of all postponed or suspended matches, and potential Playoff matches (minimum 1, maximum 5). If the course cannot be made available on the scheduled dates and there are no arrangements by the host team to play the match at an alternate site, the host team shall be deemed to have forfeited the match in accordance with the procedures of Interclub Rule 18 (Forfeitures). The circumstances pertaining to such forfeitures shall be reviewed by the Interclub Committee and may result in disqualification from future Interclub competition. Whenever possible, make-up matches should take place on the day the teams normally played their matches during the regular season. If this cannot be accomplished due to conflicts by one or both teams, the captains must strive to reschedule the match on another day.
Captain Responsibilities:
- ENSURE YOUR CLUB CAN ABIDE BY THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS TO BE A HOST CLUB IN THE INTERCLUB
- Attend pre-season meeting to review Interclub Captain's Manual, Golf Genius tasks and Pod finalization (see entry form for dates and locations)
- Confirm Pod members (click HERE to find information about finding a Pod)
- Confirm match dates YOUR club and with with opponent's captain/club
- Utilize Golf Genius to:
- Upload team rosters
- Set pairings, tee times and tee assignments (see Interclub Captain's Manual Rule 7.C for yardage parameters)
- Set Regular season and Playoff match dates
- Apply handicap stroke reductions when applicable per the Exceptional Score Recognition List
- Upload player hole by hole scores (Live mobile app scoring is available and encouraged. Contact the Interclub Manager with questions)
- Print cart signs, tee sheets and scorecards
- Post scores to GHIN using Golf Genius (posted as COMPETITION scores)
- Communicating with opposing captain about any player(s) on the Exceptional Score Recognition List
- Abide by and understand the Interclub Captains Manual (see Captain Information tab for PDF version)
